Ball Nut

Calophyllum inophyllum


A slender tree to 6 m high; leaves divided into 10-25 narrow lobes to 25 cm long; flowers orange in dense racemes to 18 cm long; fruit a brown capsule to 2 cm long. Occurs in open forest and woodland, in poorly drained areas. Flowers May-September. Fruit July-October.
